The Australian Cake Decorating Network team is getting a Wee bit excited! Why you ask? Well the countdown is on for Sharon Wee’s eagerly anticipated new book- Adorable Cakes for all Occasions- to be released at the end of this month!
ACDN was lucky enough to get the first sneak peek of what’s inside and in true Sharon Wee style the book and its cakes are nothing short of perfection. Featuring 11 incredible main projects and 6 mini ones, the in depth instructions and simple step by step images are definitely going to make it super easy for any cake decorator wanting to recreate these gorgeous cakes.
You will instantly fall in love with the many whimsical characters and elements that are used throughout Adorable Cakes for All Occasions, we certainly did! These projects are extremely versatile and showcase an array of techniques that can be implemented across a broad spectrum of celebration cakes such as birthdays, christenings and weddings. Without spoiling too many surprises of what’s inside, we can’t help but tell you there’s a cheeky little monkey waiting for you, adorable babies and bunnies and our favourite an impressive Noah’s Ark cake with a Sharon Wee twist. Templates are included for all of the projects, so there’s no need for guesswork when recreating the designs. If you’re not familiar with prepping your cake in order for it to be decorated, fear not Sharon has also got that covered with easy to follow instructions!
Adorable Cakes for all Occasions comes complete with a collection of delicious recipes, including a few that are unique. It’s perfect for those who are looking for a couple of flavours to add to their repertoire that are a little outside the box. Personally we can’t wait to try out the Green Tea Cake it looks scrumptious and after seeing it the team is craving it (for now we have to settle with just drinking Green Tea… for the record it’s not the same).
The Sharon we know doesn’t do anything in halves, she’s also in the process of setting up a website to support the book. Upon release the website will feature an online recipe calculator to help determine how many mixes of cake or ganache are needed for your various sized projects- very handy. Along with downloadable and printable templates to make getting those projects started much easier, simply download and print no need to fight with the photocopier. For those that want to get a taste of what the book is like, Sharon will also be sharing one free project for cakers to use.

Wee (ok the journalist can’t help herself) are thrilled to announce that ACDN members are in for an exclusive event where Sharon will grace our computer screens LIVE this Tuesday 13th at 8pm Sydney time. She’ll be demonstrating a tutorial from her new book and participants will have to opportunity to ask her questions as she goes!!
